It’s that time of the season when we nurse palpitations for incomings and outgoings from clubs, and today we look at some beloved and wantaway players, looking out for a certain mega-money signing that didn’t quite make the mark in Spain.

5. Karim Benzema is set to leave Real Madrid.

He’s probably the most underrated striker of his generation, but he didn’t end his years at the top without proper recognition on the big stage. Karim Benzema was named FIFA's Best Player in 2022, but the star striker is now set to leave Real Madrid after he played his last game on Saturday.

4. Christian Pulisic is on his way out of Chelsea.

It’s a no-brainer; Chelsea’s Bazaar will definitely see lots of players leave as the club tries to hit the reset button, and one of those that will not be wearing the blue jersey next season is Captain America, Christian Pulisic. He didn’t quite have it clean at Stamford Bridge, and a divorce is a fair decision.

3. Sergio Ramos to move on

Most people would barely remember Sergio Ramos for his time at PSG, as most of his days in Paris were blighted by injuries, but the Spanish juggernaut has announced that the game against Clermont-Foy is his last at PSG, so what next for the former Real Madrid man?

2. Eden Hazard’s time at Real Madrid is up.

Speaking of Real Madrid, Eden Hazard moved from Chelsea for a mega transfer fee but didn’t make any meaningful mark. The superstar at Chelsea turned into a surplus rat at Santiago Bernabeu; the Hazard move to Chelsea will go down as one of the most disappointing moves of all time.

1. Lionel Messi is off to Barcelona.

Lionel Messi was booed at PSG’s final game which ended in another loss on Saturday, and with or without the result, the Argentine World Cup winner was always going to leave. Barcelona is interested, but they need to align with FFP. Could the superstar be on his way to join Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia?
