Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has announced his decision to leave the club at the end of the season after eight years.

Jurgen Klopp expressed his shock at the decision of the Brazilian to walk from the club but he wishes him all the best. When asked in Friday’s press conference about Firmino’s decision, Klopp responded: "Surprised, yes. A little bit.

"But I respect that a lot. It's completely normal in this kind of long relationship what we have and what Bobby has with the club, the fans -- it's pretty special.

"I loved the reception he got when he came on against United. He said: 'Now I want to bring this wonderful story to a positive end. He's completely here and completely committed and that's all we need to know. There's no time for a goodbye in this moment -- we have another time for that later in the season."

Liverpool gained some momentum in the premier league after back-to-back wins including a sensational 7-0 annihilation of Manchester United at Anfield last weekend, all attention would now turn to the away game at Bournemouth before the mammoth trip to Real Madrid in the champions league.

Firmino was part of the Liverpool side that lifted the champions league in 2019, couple of FA Cup triumphs, one league cup and the biggest one as far as the Kops are concerned, the 2019/2020 premier league champions.
