Arsenal’s loss at Everton on Saturday changed a lot of things about this fixture, now the champions can close the gap at the top to just two points with two legs against the Gunners still to play.

United beat Crystal Palace 2-1 and usurped Newcastle who were forced to a 1-1 draw at home by West Ham.

These two results also mean something to Tottenham Hotspur as they can close the gap on fourth place to just a point, interesting days ahead.

Man City came from behind to beat Spurs in January and this fixture means Spurs can retaliate or cave in again to blow themselves out of the top four waters.

The margin for error is almost non existent in this league, every moment counts.

Erling Haaland and Riyad Mahrez ruled the Etihad on the night.

Spurs had raced to a two-goal lead and looked to be helping their North London rivals Arsenal in the title race.

But Pep Guardiola’s side came back in the second half and proved why they have won the title four times in five years.

Tottenham have an amazing record against City on this ground

The champions are yet to score in three visits to the Tottenham Stadium and if that happens again, it would be the first time in decades that they have lost consecutively to a single opponent away from home.

How will Man City line up?

Guardiola will motivate his boys with the result Arsenal posted on Saturday and that means it will be a long evening for the hosts but the weaknesses in the City defence can be exposed by one or two counter-attacks.

Tottenham will sit deep to soak up pressure, they must be disciplined and avoid unnecessary bookings and as always, expect Antonio Conte to play some demonic style that will frustrate the visitors.

A point will be a good result for the hosts.

What can go wrong for City?

Overzealous approach and Guardiola’s experiments.

There are too many ways to go about this but trust the Spaniard to complicate things in a bit to confuse his adversaries. It’s going to be a cagey game.

Harry Kane seeks to peel away from Jimmy Greeves, he will be looking for that goal while the Spurs defence will have it all to do to deal with whatever the visitors throw at them.

Arsenal will be watching with keen interests, Newcastle and United too.

Verdict: Full time draw.
