The round of 16 draws in the UEFA Champions League has given us mouthwatering fixtures and we just can’t wait for February.

There’s no respite for Liverpool and for the second time in less than two years, they will have to do it again against Real Madrid after drawing the Spanish giants; the last time they met was in the 2021 finals where the Los Blancos triumphed by a lone Vinicius Jr goal.

Bayern Munich is rampaging in Europe, they keep pulling trees, and up next to them is another team in the heavyweight category, PSG. The French champions desperately want the champions league but they have to do it by going past Bayern.

PSG has what it takes to beat any team but somehow, they seem to just fall short when and where it matters. Bayern Munich is not afraid of any side but can PSG say the same? It’s time for the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe to prove their worth, that’s a fixture to savor.

Premier League side Chelsea will be away to Borussia Dortmund in the first leg before welcoming the Black and Yellow armies to the Stamford Bridge Stadium for the second leg two weeks later. It’s anybody’s game, to be honest, but Chelsea should hold the advantage here.

Manchester City will square up against RB Leipzig. It’s a favorable fixture for Pep Guardiola’s side but it’s also a potential banana peel. For a side that has the champions league as a top priority, City cannot afford to underrate anyone, they must come correct.

Tottenham has a tricky fixture against AC Milan and Antonio Conte should know it’s not going to be an easy one to negotiate. The Italian tactician doesn’t have much success to point to in Europe but he knows too well to handle Milan lightly.

The first legs of the round of 16 fixtures would take place in the second and third weeks of February with the second legs following suit into early March. By then, boys would have been separated from the men and the question is, how many English teams would be left in the tournament afterward?
