Portugal super star Cristiano Ronaldo has said he is not prepared to walk from the national team after the World Cup in November as he is eyeing a shot at the 2024 European championship.
Speaking at a gala event by the Portuguese Football Federation on Wednesday, the Manchester United forward said the road is not over yet for him as he wants to go beyond his 117 goals for Portugal, a record he was recognized for at the event.
"I am proud to receive an award of this magnitude," Ronaldo said.
Ronaldo has won two major trophies with Portugal; the 2016 European championship and the 2019 UEFA Nations League. Ronaldo wants more laurels at club and international levels, which threw him into transfer drama with United in the summer.
"I hope to be part of the Federation for a few more years," he added. "I still feel motivated; my ambition is high. I'm in a team with young people. I want to be part of this World Cup and the European too; I'm going to assume that right away."
