Tottenham can move to the top of the log with a win over the Foxes on Saturday if City doesn’t pick maximum points at the Molineux earlier in the day.

Antonio Conte’s side suffered defeat in the champions league in midweek to Sporting Lisbon. The defensive approach failed brutally, the Portuguese capitalized on some lapses in the last few minutes to condemn Spurs to their first defeat of the season.

Leicester City sit at the foot of the log after a horrendous start to the league season. Just one point in six outings has heaped pressure on Brendan Rodgers and he just might join Thomas Tuchel and Scott Parker on the managerial casualty list.

Leicester’s last game before the league suspension due to the passing of the Queen of England was at the Amex. It was a horrible showing as Danny Ward retrieved the ball from his own net five times as Brighton pummeled the Foxes.

Spurs will compete in the league this season; Antonio Conte’s priority has always been the league and Tottenham need the title to prove they’re just not one of the teams but one of the real deals. Only a win at home against Leicester will suffice.

The Foxes are not in the best of places but a win here will not only boost their ego, but also push them a little up depending on surrounding results. Leicester had patches of quality in their loss at Brighton but overall performance left too much to be desired.

Strangely, Spurs will only attack when they hit on the counter and that leaves this fixture on the tricky edge. Leicester will like to keep things together at the back, they have conceded way too much to be trusted with a clean sheet.

Dejan Kulusevski may still have to sit out for Richarlison who is fast becoming the preferred on the flank; Heung Min Son is having a poor start to the season and he just might get himself running in this fixture. Leicester will have decisions to make upfront but they will be second best for most of the game.

Verdict: Spurs to win.
