Chelsea striker Timo Werner set to return to RB Leipzig

Chelsea striker Timo Werner is set to return to RB Leipzig on a permanent deal, according to reports.

The Germany international and Thomas Tuchel are not getting along at Chelsea, he was not on the bench in the 1-0 victory over Everton away at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Werner has struggled during his time at Chelsea, he was signed by Frank Lampard for £47.5m in 2020 after scoring 90 goals in 156 games for Leipzig.

But he has been unable to find his scoring form in England.

Going back to Germany will be good for both Chelsea and Werner, the deal is reportedly worth around £25m.

Personal terms have been agreed between Werner and RB Leipzig.

But the clubs are still discussing on how to pay his wages as his current wages at Chelsea exceeds the highest earner at the German club.
