Manchester United have agreed a deal with Juventus to sign French midfielder Adrien Rabiot

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Juventus to sign midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

However, personal terms must still be negotiated with his mother Veronique, who is his agent.

Rabiot, who joined Juventus in the summer of 2019 as a free agent, is in the final year of his contract and has fallen out of favour at the Italian powerhouse.

Rabiot has only one year remaining on his contract, thus Juventus are content to release him this summer.

United's major midfield transfer priority this summer has been Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong, but they have kept alternative possibilities "warm" after their pursuit of the player proved fruitless.

Rabiot spent a brief time at Manchester City's academy before becoming professional with Paris Saint-Germain in his native France a decade ago.

Prior to joining Juventus three years ago, he played 227 games for PSG and won five league titles. 

Last season, Rabiot started 28 matches for Juventus in Serie A.
