It’s that time of the season where everyone monitors breaking news and player movements, we bring to you the peak of the bunch as team try to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.

Chelsea to press play after Lukaku departure

There’s been a shake up upstairs at Chelsea with notable names leaving the club and word on the street is that Todd Boehly now does all negotiations directly but is that a sustainable model?

Romelu Lukaku has left the club and that means in-comings can now start happening at the speed of light with Jules Kounde, Raheem Sterling, and Matthjis De Ligt all touted to be on the cards of the Blues and we expect movement from this weekend.

Westham close in on Areola

PSG goalkeeper Alphonso Areola is on the verge of joining Westham on a permanent basis following a successful loan spell at the club last season where he helped the Hammers to the semifinals of the Europa League.

The price placed on Areola is said to be £10.3m and according to multiple sources, Westham are close to making it happen and the Frenchman will be a worthy competition to Lukas Fabianski next season.

Di Maria hangs on for Barcelona

Angel Di Maria’s reservations against Real Madrid is well documented and the Argentine will jump on any opportunity to pay the champions of Europe in their own coin after they sold him against his will.

Barcelona are broke and can’t do deals for expensive players. All talks are cooled on Raphinha after the premier league side named a huge price for the player and a move for the veteran PSG winger, a proven winner and a club fit would do the job.

Dembele to extend with Barcelona

Still on Barcelona, Ousman Dembele is said to be about to renew with the Catalonia side having initially said he wants a move away from the club.

Chelsea were interested in the Frenchman and were expected to land him on a free but Dembele has accepted the club’s offer and will no longer leave; that also means any move for Raphinha is no longer feasible as it stands.

Pope leaves Burnley for Newcastle

Burnley has accepted Newcastle’s £10m bid for Nick Pope and the England goalkeeper will join the club on a permanent basis following the relegation of the Turf Moor side.

Nick Pope desperately wants to maintain his place in the 3Lions team to the World Cup and he can’t actualize that as a championship player. Pope will compete with Martin Dubravka and Karl Dalow for the Newcastle starting shirt.
