Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli is hitting top gear, six goal contributions in six games as the North London side surged up to fourth in the league and the rest of Europe are keeping tabs on the Brazilian.
Earlier in the season, there were talks of unrests and requests for loan but Arsenal refused, Mikel Arteta was vocal about his interest in the youngster and the need for him to learn few tricks especially on pace management and finishing, he’s gradually getting there.
News broke out on Monday that Real Madrid are interested in taking Martinelli to the Santiago Bernabeu in January, and in a prompt response, Arsenal have vehemently refused to listen to any offer for the sensational forward.
Martinelli himself out of excitement at the press conference after helping himself and the club to a 4-1 success over Leeds on Saturday said: “I just signed a five year extension and if the club offers me more, I’ll be happy to sign”
Arteta speaking earlier in the season about the Brazilian said: “He has to know when to run and when to hold on a bit to draw the opposition to commit, he needs to know how to make good use of space and how to decide in the final third”
Gabriel Martinelli is becoming a menace, his mazy runs and impressive finish contributed to Arsenal’s change in fortune and the club is once again mixing it up there with the big boys for once at this stage of the league season since 2017.
