Chelsea are where they want to be, on top of the premier league, four wins in a row and almost there in the champions league with yet another win away at Malmo during the week, can they sustain the momentum?

Burnley beat Brentford last weekend with a sensational first half display, it was their first win of the season and it helped them out of the doldrums before surrounding teams play, they have another chance to impress against the Blues, how well will they fare?

Not to mince words, this is a David and Goliath affair. Chelsea are the league leaders and the best they can do for themselves is to head into the international break with a win that assures them of returning on top.

Burnley with a win could go as high as 15th, would be a dream destination at least depending on what happens around them but they can be sure of going into the international break outside the red zone if they upset the odds at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Last time out it was fun for the Blues away from home, Reece James ran the show with a brace at Newcastle, he’s very much on top of his game now and ready to step in the big shoes of Ceaser Azpilicueta.

How will Burnley set up? The Clarets will keep their compact shape and try to use the pace of their high flying new signing Maxwell Cornet on the break, Chris Wood will also be on hand for aerial threats and the defense must be alert to whatever Chelsea throw at them.

Speaking of Chelsea, unavailability of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner means Kai Havertz will return upfront, Mason Mount is fine and should be available for selection, Christian Pulisic is fit as well so Thomas Tuchel will have it all to do with selection problems.

Burnley haven’t scored against Chelsea in the last three games between these two, their last point in this fixture came in a 2-2 draw on this ground in April of 2019, they will have to do more to better that at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Verdict: Chelsea to win
