Liverpool made it two Premier League wins in a row with a 2-0 victory over Burnley at a raucous Anfield.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson returned to the starting XI following his absence from the opening-day win over Norwich, while teenager Harvey Elliott also impressed on his Premier League debut.

Jota scored his second goal in as many games in the 18th minute, heading past Nick Pope from Konstantinos Tsimikas' cross.

Eight minutes later, Mohamed Salah had the ball in the back of the net, but it was ruled out by the video assistant referee due to the Egyptian being offside during the build-up.

Sean Dyche's side were looking for their first back-to-back league victories at Anfield since 1897 after ending Liverpool's 68-game unbeaten home run last season.

However, Burnley's valiant defence was finally breached as Jurgen Klopp's side made it 2-0 through a superb Mane strike in the second half.
