We’ll update the list from time to time as news emerge from leading transfer news outlets across the world of football

Ashley Young nears Burnley move

You probably didn’t see this coming but we can confirm to you that former Manchester United utility player Ashley Young is on the verge of joining Sean Dyches at Burnley on a free transfer from Inter Milan in the coming days.

Talks are at an advanced stage already and it’s just a matter of dotting Is and crossing Ts, wages and image rights have been agreed and what is left is an official announcement, you must wonder what Burnley do with their TV rights largesse.

Paulo Fonseca agrees Tottenham move

It’s an era of straight swap so it’s totally fine to see Jose Mourinho head to Roma and former Roma Coach Paulo Fonseca head to Tottenham Hotspur.

Ryan Mason hasn’t done particularly well enough to earn the head coach job on a permanent basis at Spurs and in all honesty, an experienced hand is needed to return Spurs back to serious business.

Fonseca will follow former Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici who joined Spurs earlier last week.

Buffon won’t go away… Nears Parma move

Italian legend Gianluigi Buffon may have given up hopes of a champions league medal but the veteran wants one more hurray at the World Cup in 2022.

After leaving Juventus at the age of 43, Buffon has agreed terms with Parma and is set to join the Italian side on a one year pay as you play deal and hoping he’d be in good shape to return to the big stage even as a third-choice goalkeeper for the World Cup next year.

What is Ancelotti smoking?

Veteran manager Carlo Ancelotti has stirred the hornet’s nest by asking Real Madrid to sign misfiring Chelsea striker Timo Werner.

Yes, you read that right; the champions league winner was under fire throughout his opening campaign at Chelsea, scoring more disallowed goal than anyone else and even more than actual goals but Ancelotti must see something in the German and is wishing he joins him at Real Madrid… Strange right?

Barcelona eye De Ligt from Juventus

The rebuild continues at Barcelona and this time, their full attention is right on a player they missed out on at the very last minute last summer, Matthijs de Ligt.

The Juventus defender has struggled for form and fitness at Turin and wouldn’t mind a breather elsewhere but he won’t come cheap.

Barcelona are already resigned to fate to lose Samuel Umtiti and Gerrard Pique is too old to bank on, few academy graduates here and there can’t sustain the battle to reclaim La Liga, Clement Lenglet is the only name they have at the back and he isn’t even top class; time to Ligt up Camp Nou?
