Conte to Spurs and the Kane conundrum
As widely reported by top news outlets, Antonio Conte is in talks with Tottenham Hotspur over a potential transfer after leaving Inter Milan last week but the move depends on a few factors and the future of Harry Kane is top on that list.
Harry Kane had hinted that he wants to move on from the North London club after seven years of active involvement but he wants a new challenge; Conte has made it clear that he will only join if Kane is staying, let’s see how that turns out.
Thomas Tuchel extends with Chelsea
Chelsea has announced that they have extended Thomas Tuchel’s contract after his sensational success with The Blues in just four months.
Tuchel took over after Frank Lampard was sacked at the tail end of January and he guided Chelsea to the final of the FA Cup where they lost to Leicester, the top four finish in the league as well as the big one, UEFA Champions League Success.
Tuchel has now extended till 2024, improved terms and promise of transfer budget. Happy times for Chelsea fans.
Koeman stays as Barcelona boss
As it stands it feels a lot like Lionel Messi will stay on as a Barcelona player and there are rumors that Juan Laporta has gotten him to agree to a ten year deal but while that remains in sketches, we can confirm that Dutchman Ronald Koeman will be in charge of the Catalan side next season.
Laporta has decided to stick with Koeman who guided the club to a third placed finish in the just concluded season and back him with signings, we’ll see the end of that but one would have thought the club will try someone else, we wait…
Lukaku stays, Inzhagi targets signings
“Yes, I am staying. I've already had contact with the man who normally becomes our new manager. Maybe I shouldn't say that yet... but it was a very positive conversation.”- Romelu Lukaku.
Following speculations surrounding his future, Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku has ended all talks around his summer decision by coming out to say he’s staying at Inter at least for one more season and new manager Simeone Inzaghi has penciled Sassuolo playmaker Locatelli as his first major signing.
Patrick Vieira under consideration at Lille
Arsenal legend and former OGC Nice manager Patrick Vieira has been contacted by French Ligue 1 champions Lille OSC as their new head coach.
Vieira will come under the spotlight having had underwhelming spells as a manager but will have a chance to lead Lille’s title defense bid if he gets the job.
Vieira was in the news recently for allegedly backing Daniel Ek’s bid to buy Arsenal and how that ends is left to be seen with the Kroenkes insisting on no deal.
