Elland Road

There is no Thierry Henry or Robert Pires, there won’t be Mark Viduka or Harry Kewell, but this fixture reminds one of the good old days of lots of goals and end to end stuff, it would be fun at Elland Road.

Leeds United have proven quite hard to play, although their high line shows they can be caught napping at the back several times but they also press aggressively and force opponents to lose composure and make punishable mistakes, Aston Villa was a classic example.

Speaking of Villa, they went to the Emirates and hammered Arsenal 3-0, it was a defeat that humbled Arsenal after their strong showing at Old Trafford, one that meant that they re-wrote history but couldn’t reenact same feat when Dean Smith’s team came to town.

Arsenal were actually in the game until late on when Jack Grealish and Ross Barkley took laws into their own hands and both took turns to fed Oli Watkins for the two late goals that ended the conversation, Arsenal were lethargic and it went all south when Thomas Partey didn’t return for the second half.

Leeds United will lick their lips while watching Arsenal’s positional indiscipline against Villa, they have lots to exploit as long as they can stay focused, Mikel Arteta didn’t really give much away at his press conference on Friday on the state of things with Partey and Arsenal will miss him greatly if he doesn’t play this game.

Arsenal will have to rely on the trio of Dani Ceballos, Granit Xhaka and Mo Elneny in the absence of the Ghanaian midfielder while Klich, Pablo Hernandes and Helder Costa will likely get the nod to start for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

News of unrests rocked Arsenal in midweek with Willian rumored to have broken camp rules to head to Dubai and the duo of David Luiz and Dani Ceballos were reported to have bust ups that landed the Spaniard a broken nose but Mikel Arteta denied any rift during his presser.

Arsenal must come out strong if they don’t want to be regarded as a spent force, they can’t look at the table right now because it doesn’t even look balanced but a win here can become the spring behind their leap.

Leeds United also has the chance to return to winning ways after losing badly at Crystal Palace the last time out, they are also wasteful with Patrick Bamford as their major culprit, but Lacazette is in a deeper hell hole with fans who would rather have Aubameyang at the center instead of being played wide.

Verdict: Both teams to score
