Aymeric Laporte's equalizer was enough to give the Premier League champions a draw at newly promoted Wolves as the host ends Pep Guardiola's 100% start to their Premier League title defence.

The former Bilbao defender scored his first goal for the club after heading in a beautiful Ilkay Gundogan cross to cancel out Willy Boly's controversial goal.

Boly appeared to have bundled the Joao Moutinho's cross into the net with his arm to give the host the lead in the 57th minute.

Wolves striker Raul Jimenez's goal was cancelled in the first half.

Manchester City hit the woodwork twice in the first half with Sergio Aguero and Sterling testing Rui Patricio who was in fine form.

Kun Aguero hit the bar again with a free-kick late in the match.

Manchester City still at the top of the table for now, with the remaining games this weekend still to come.

Wolves are without a win since returning to the Premier League, having played a 2-2 draw with Everton on the opening weekend and lost away at Leicester last week.
