Westham downs Chelsea to compound Mourinho's woes (Match Highlights)
Jose Mourinho restored Eden Hazard into the starting eleven as the fumbling champions visit next door neighbors Westham in the match week ten encounter with all existing records pointing at a Chelsea win but Slaven Bilic and his men got other ideas.
Mauro Zarate latched on to a rebound off a Payet corner to hand the hammers a sensational lead. Chelsea were disjointed from there on, though we're very unlucky to have a ball cleared off the line by Lanzinni and then had Cesc Fabregas' effort harshly ruled out for offside, but it was Westham who nearly doubled their lead when Sahko fed Lanzinni with a cheeky back heel but the Argentine couldn't keep his effort low.
Nemanja Matic saw red just before halftime for a school boy error having been booked earlier for what was fit enough for a sending off. Willian went close from the dead ball attempt before halftime while Costa volleyed closer to the clock end than the crossbar earlier.
Mourinho and his assistant were sent to the stands for his usual rants but the embattled manager sent on John Mikel Obi in place of Fabregas at halftime. Chelsea started the brightest and soon leveled after a neat and emphatic rebound from Gary Cahill. The visitors showed character and almost went in front when Eden Hazard found himself through on goal but the off form playmaker opted to dance back with the goalkeeper to beat.
It went from bad to worse for Chelsea when substitute Andy Carrol rose the highest to send the ball past Begovic for what would be the hammers' winner. The historic win sends Westham second on the table, one point behind Manchester City, with lots of believe under the tutelage of Slaven Bilic. For Chelsea, it's another misery, another heartache and another weekend of uncertainty around their managerial position.
