Done deal: Mario Balotelli joins AC Milan on season long loan from liverpool
AC Milan have completed the signing of Mario Balotelli on a season long loan from Liverpool.
After a season filled with poor performances and off the field antics, the former Manchester city striker have moved back to Italy after just one season at Liverpool.
The Azzuri striker said he was to be blamed for his poor season in the Premier League but the style of play choosen by Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers does not suit him.
Balotelli: "Milan are giving me a second chance, and I feel very fortunate."
"I take the blame for what happened at Liverpool, but the formation chosen by Rodgers was not suited to my characteristics. At the beginning, I missed many easy chances, then I had fewer chances to score, a bit of bad luck, injuries. It was a mess, but I never complained, I accepted the decisions of the manager, and I always behaved like a professional."
"The grown-up Mario didn’t just land here at Milanello - even at Liverpool my behavior and lifestyle were normal."
Concerning his activities on social media, the Italy striker said: "There haven’t been any problems in my private life in the last year.I may have put pictures from restaurants on Instagram, but that doesn't mean I wasn't training even though I wasn't playing.”
Super Mario then went on to confirm he was isolated by Liverpool along with Borini and Jose Enrique to train alone.
"I have trained a lot, often double sessions and also by myself, or in the last few months with Borini and Jose Enrique. It was tough, but if I hadn’t done it then I would have been dead after yesterday’s training session. Because Mihajlovic’s training sessions are very tough, but I’m feeling well."
Balotelli spoke of his admiration for Mihajlovic saying he will not disappoint the Milan coach for the opportunity to spend the season at the San Siro.
"Mihajlovic has known me since I was just a boy. My problem has never been my quality, but my character. People always hear a lot of things about me, and every aspect is exaggerated. Rightfully so, Mihajlovic wanted to look into my eyes and understand if I had the right motivation." Said Mario.
"Mihajlovic listened to me, without being influenced by what other people say about me, and for that alone I thank him. I told Mihajlovic that I have understood my mistakes. That if he gave me this chance, I wouldn't disappoint him."
"I also told Mihajlovic that I will give everything I have. That I am a man and that I don't create problems. And that I will accept all of his decisions."
"Mihajlovic is a leader: tough, honest, straigthtforward and loyal. He doesn’t bluff, speaks to you while looking straight into your eyes, which I like. He looks at the man, not just the footballer."
"I must prove that Galliani didn't make a mistake when he brought me back. I know that he believes in this as much as I do.”
