QPR reject Leicester's £12 million bid for Charlie Austin

Leicester are understood to have had a bid of £12 million for Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin rejected.

The 25-year-old forward scored 18 Premier League goals for Rangers last season but could not help keep them in the top flight.

Austin, who was in Roy Hodgson’s England squad for last month’s fixtures against the Republic of Ireland and Slovenia, is entering the final year of his deal at Loftus Road but QPR are not prepared to lower their valuation of one of their prized assets.

Only Sergio Agüero, Harry Kane and Diego Costa scored more league goals last season than Austin struck against Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal during an ultimately unsuccessful relegation battle.
