Manchester United preparing fresh €100m bid for Bayern’s Thomas Müller [Sport1]
Manchester United are preparing a fresh bid for Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller, according to German news outlet Sport1.
The Red devils have already made an 82m euro offer for the German World Cup winner, which was rejected by the Bavarian giants.
Sport 1 claim that Manchester United are ready to go all out in order to sign Muller, with a 100m euro (69m pound) bid being prepared by Ed Woodward.
Such an astronomical bid would become Manchester United’s most expensive transfer ever were it to be successful, exceeding the previous record set by the purchase of Angel Di Maria for £59.7m last summer.
Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has moved to reassure the fans that ‘no more players will be sold to Manchester United’, but such a huge bid could test his resolve.
Having now signed Bayern legend Bastian Schweinsteiger, it appears Louis van Gaal is confident he can lure Muller to Old Trafford with a fresh and improved bid.
