Fernando Llorente set to join Arsenal for £8.5m as agent meets Arsenal officials in London
Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport today reported that Fernando Llorente’s agent had travelled to London on Tuesday to discuss a potential €12m (£8.5m) transfer to Arsenal.
The Gunners are believed to be in the market for a new striker to take some of the burden off their only natural number point man – Olivier Giroud.
The 30-year-old Spanish striker signed for Juventus in 2012 and it is understood that the ‘Old Lady’ want €12m for the former Athletic Bilbao hitman.
Arsenal had been linked to Real Madrid star Karim Benzema in recent days but any potential deal looks very unlikely.
Capped 23 times by Spain, Corriere dello Sport claim Llorente would prefer a move to Real Madrid but would be open to a move to England too.
