Arsenal’s attempts to re-sign Carlos Vela are revealed by Sociedad’s president [Cadena Ser]

Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay gave a handful of quotes of Spanish media outlet Cadena Ser on Tuesday, including his views on Asenal’s attempts to re-sign Carlos Vela this summer.

Vela, who is currently on his summer holidays as personal reasons have left himself outside Mexico’s World Cup squad, had been linked with a return to Arsenal this summer, particularly as it’s common knowledge that the Gunners have a €4m buy-back clause for the striker.

The striker, however, has spoken out against a return to London, last week telling beIN Sports that:

I never felt comfortable in London and I never enjoyed it. However, when I got to Donostia (San Sebastian) I found a place where I was very happy, where I’m enjoying myself every day.

Now fresh updates have been reveal on how the Gunners have tried to lure Vela back to North London by Sociedad president Aperribay. He has disclosed the following:

Arsenal have told us they are interested in the player [Vela and we have to think on that. The player wants to continue here, in San Sebastian, and this is an important point for us.

There are no discussions in this regard and therefore it is difficult to talk about whether we would be near or far.

We will see in the near future if we go a little and accomplish something for Real.

Vela, 25, has prospered in La Liga scoring 44 goals in his past three seasons, however, if you had to put your money on it, it would seem like the Mexican wont be returning to Arsenal anytime soon.
