The biggest news on the internet today is the worst-kept secret. The appointment of Zinedine Zidane as the head coach of the French national team followed the crashing of Les Bleus from the ongoing FIFA World Cup.

This column focuses on transfers, but it's crucial to acknowledge that Didier Deschamps failed to fully utilise the talent within the French team. The manner in which they lost to Spain on Tuesday night left too much to be desired. It is Zidane time with Les Bleus.

Our understanding is that papers are now exchanging hands as the French Football Federation prepares to announce Zidane as the new head coach. Deschamps has been in charge since 2012, winning the World Cup in 2018 in Russia.

France lost two major finals under Deschamps: the 2016 Euro finals on home soil and the 2022 World Cup finals in Saudi Arabia. France will take on the losers of the game between England and Argentina in the third-place playoffs at the weekend. The game will be Deschamps' last dance with the team.

Elsewhere, Jurgen Klopp has been appointed as the new manager of the German national team. It will be fascinating to see how the former Liverpool man galvanises the Germans to compete greatly at future tournaments. We can't wait to see the rivalry.

Mason Greenwood has completed his move to Turkish outfit Fenerbahce. The interesting news is that Manchester United will earn €12.4m on the deal, thanks to a sell-on clause they inserted in the deal that took Greenwood to Marseille from United.

In a recent development from the Molineux, Fiorentina has sent a loan bid with an option to buy for €22m for Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare. Wolves got relegated last season, and the Nigerian is open to a new challenge in Italy. This one is expected to happen.

Arsenal's Leandro Trossard is joining Besiktas of Turkey. The 31-year-old helped Arsenal to the Premier League title in May and has now been granted permission to undergo medicals at the Turkish club. Who replaces Trossard at Arsenal?

Bought in a rush as a face-saving transfer after Chelsea hijacked Arsenal's Mykhailo Mudryk chase, the Belgian has proven to be a bargain. Names like Morgan Rodgers, Bradley Barcola, and Christos Tzolis have all been mentioned, but which of them will join the Gunners?

Not a huge surprise, but we can confirm that Christian Romero will leave Spurs this summer. The Argentine is in the semifinal of the World Cup and will consider his future after the tournament. Inter Milan leads the race for the Tottenham captain, but his options are still open at this stage.
