We had a break for once since the World Cup started, but Thursday will lead us into the quarterfinals. The last eight are dominated by Europeans, with a sprinkle of Argentinians and Moroccans.

Today, we're not dwelling on the FIFA World Cup; we will instead be looking at what is going on with transfers. Clubs are snapping up players, trimming squads, and identifying talents ahead of the new season. What is your club doing at this crunch time?

Manchester United has returned to Chelsea to shop, and this time, it's the Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos who will join the Red Devils from the Blues. Manchester United will pay £50m in total for the Brazilian, who will undergo medicals at Old Trafford this week.

Interesting news from Camp Nou. Barcelona wants to sign Kareem Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund, and the German international seems to be pushing for the move. You wonder what these players see in the Catalan side.

BVB is yet to consider the bid from Barcelona, but Adeyemi is already packing his bags. Barcelona seems to be uninterested in following up with the Marcus Rashford idea and will focus on getting the Borussia Dortmund man. This is one to look out for.

Lamine Yamal is acting like an agent in the Julian Alvarez conversation. The Spanish wonderkid wants Alvarez to join Barcelona from Atletico Madrid, and he is not ashamed of going public with his desire. Will Atletico listen to the young winger?

Mason Greenwood is expected to join Turkish side Fenerbahce after his camp agreed on terms with the club on Wednesday. A fee of €40m is expected to confirm the deal, and Greenwood is excited about the opportunity to start again elsewhere.

Real Madrid will consider Marc Cucurella as their first-choice left-back next season, with Andreas Carreras as the backup. This means that Fran Garcia will leave, and indeed, the Spaniard has left for Real Betis. Real Madrid retains a 50% sell-on clause, while Real Betis inserted a €50m release clause in the deal.

Real Madrid has also announced that the club's French midfielder, Aurelien Tchouameni, will stay at the club with a new contract on the table. Manchester United hoped to lure the Frenchman to Old Trafford, but the Premier League club can now look elsewhere, with Tchouameni set to extend his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Finally, the possibility of Arsenal signing Bruno GuimarĂ£es continues to increase, with the Brazilian midfielder reportedly forcing Newcastle to consider Arsenal's offer for him. Newcastle already parted ways with Sandro Tonali in this window; they will fight to finish to keep their captain.
