As the World Cup draws near, lots of clubs are trying to tidy up deals for players before it kicks off. On today's episode of Transfer Update, we pay tribute to a legend of the game while looking at buzzing headlines in the transfer market.

James Milner retires after a record-breaking career.

Former Leeds United, Newcastle, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Brighton utility player James Milner has announced his retirement from football after a sensational 24-year career.

The former England footballer amassed 658 games under his belt, winning the Premier League three times (Manchester City and Liverpool); the FA Cup, League Cup, and the Community Shield twice each; and the Champions League.

Lewandowski to Fenerbahce?

After leaving Barcelona this summer, top striker Robert Lewandowski could be lining up for Turkish outfit Fenerbahce next season.

With elections coming up, one of the contestants for the club's presidency position, Safi, has promised fans that he will lure the veteran striker to the club as an experienced cover in the dressing room.

This is a situation worth monitoring.

Tottenham opens talks for Savinho.

Following another disastrous season in the Premier League, Tottenham is busy in the transfer market, hoping to sort out contracts before the start of the World Cup.

Manchester City winger Savinho is the next name on the table after a bid last January didn't materialize.

The Brazilian is open to the deal and could join Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson at Tottenham next season.

Real Madrid plans to sign Dumfries and Porro.

With Dani Carvajal out of the club, Real Madrid is busy in the transfer window in search of a replacement for the veteran right back.

It is understood that Dutch star Denzel Dumfries has a release clause that is under €25m.

The Spanish giants could trigger the clause in the coming days, while Pedro Porro of Spurs is another name being discussed at the club.

Arsenal joins the race for Eli Junior Kroupi.

Bournemouth youngster Eli Junior Kroupi is the next star to likely depart from the Cherries following strong inquiries from PSG, Manchester City, and Arsenal.

The Premier League champions seek to ring some changes in their forward line, and the young Frenchman is in line for a huge move.

Bournemouth will not be friendly with pricing, and whoever wants the lad must pay the price.
