Chelsea lost the FA Cup final to Manchester City at the weekend; it was their 7th straight cup final loss. The blues must be bleeding.

In some other interesting news from Stamford Bridge, Chelsea announced the signing of Xabi Alonso as their new permanent manager. The former Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid manager becomes their tenth permanent manager in ten years.

Tottenham have had a torrid season, but they're in a better position than they were two weeks ago. Back-to-back losses for West Ham mean Spurs only need one point from their remaining two games to survive the drop.

Tottenham has only one win from their last 33 trips to Stamford Bridge. This record will be at the back of their minds when they visit again on Tuesday. It's easier to negotiate when they look at Chelsea's form. The hosts haven't won a single league game since March.

Chelsea can still realistically achieve European football after Everton, Brighton, and Brentford all lost at the weekend. A win for Chelsea on Tuesday night against Spurs will take the Blues up to 8th on the log, level on points with Brentford.

The final day of the domino could favor Chelsea as Brentford travels to Liverpool and Chelsea visits Sunderland. There's Brighton in the mix; the Seagulls host Manchester United, while Everton will also try to earn a win against Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tuesday night is about Chelsea and how they approach the visit of Tottenham. Spurs cannot afford to put their trust in their final-day encounter against Everton. Both sides must go for this game with all their respective strengths.

Joao Pedro has been left out of the Brazil squad for the summer World Cup. It's devastating news for the Brazilian forward. Will this affect him on Tuesday? Estevao also misses out due to injury, while Andrey Santos was also omitted from the squad.

Richarlison misses out for Brazil, too, and so does Randal Kolo Muani for France. The only task for Tottenham is to earn a point that guarantees their Premier League participation again next season. How will this one play out?

Verdict: Both teams to score.
