As the final whistle went off across grounds in the Premier League on Sunday, the biggest news was that of triumph for Arsenal. After 22 years of pain, Arsenal finally lifted the Premier League trophy.

Martin Odegaard lifted the trophy after the Gunners beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park. It felt more like an exhibition game as both clubs fielded understrength sides, with both clubs looking forward to bigger things in the coming days.

Oliver Glasner has the Europa Conference League to prepare for, while Mikel Arteta can even achieve something bigger, with the Champions League final next weekend. Arsenal is the Premier League champion, and they will celebrate this one.

Elsewhere on Sunday, it was delirium for Sunderland as the newly promoted side clinched a Europa League ticket after a huge 2-1 win over Chelsea at the Stadium of Light. The win means Sunderland will be in Europe next season.

Tottenham beat Everton 1-0 to retain their top-flight status. As a consequence, West Ham's 3-0 win over Leeds United amounted to nothing, and the Hammers are relegated from the Premier League for the first time in 14 years.

The decision-makers at West Ham have faced the consequences of their foolishness. They got rid of the manager who won them the European trophy and then went on to hire Julien Lopetegui, who did nothing good in charge. They're relegated now, and they have to start thinking of losing players to cover debts.

Chelsea's season went from bad to worse. Another game, another red card. The Blues ended the season in 10th spot, without European football next season; how will Xabi Alonso approach his first few months at the club?

Brighton will play European football again next season; they will embrace the European Conference League with joy. The Seagulls were battered by Manchester United at the Amex, but they can be proud of what they have achieved.

For Manchester United, it's a successful season if you consider how much pain they suffered recently. Third on the log, Champions League football next season, and money to invest in the club as they hope to compete for the title next season.

Mohammed Salah has left Liverpool, but he leaves as a king. Goals, assists, and trophies will be the things people remember the Egyptian for; the media antics won't last long in the mind of anyone. The king is gone, and he will be fondly remembered by everyone at Anfield.

Step forward, Andoni Iraola and Bournemouth. They lost three of their back four, yet they competed. Bournemouth finished in sixth, not enough for Champions League football, as Manchester City failed to beat Villa. How proud can the fans be of their beloved Cherries?

Finally, Etihad Stadium said goodbye to an enigma, Pep Guardiola. The Spaniard delivered 20 trophies in 10 years. Is there anyone else in world football who can deliver this level of greatness to the people on the blue side of Manchester?
