Tough questions for Chelsea and Man City ahead of a pivotal PL weekend

Nuno Espirito Santo and Keith Andrews both have influences on the title conversation. Arsenal must beat West Ham to stay in charge, while the Cityzens must beat Brentford to remain in contention. Will any of them impact the race? (Photo credit: West Ham Zone)

The Premier League is entering its pivotal stage this weekend. Should Manchester City drop points in any of their two upcoming games, they may have handed the title to the Gunners.

Arsenal fans can start preparations for their title parade after Everton held the Cityzens to a 3-3 draw at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday. Pep Guardiola's side had the chance to cut Arsenal's lead to just 3 points, but they failed to do so, managing only a point under the lights.

We have a lot of questions to ask ahead of game week 36. The first game of the weekend is at Anfield. The Blues are the visitors, and as things stand, Chelsea is about to miss out on Europe altogether.

It's been a tough season for Chelsea. Three different managers and unbelievably poor squad management; the best the Blues can get is a 6th-place finish, which could get them Champions League football if Aston Villa wins the Europa League.

With Liverpool needing a win to get rid of Bournemouth in 6th place, a win on Saturday against Chelsea would settle nerves at Anfield and allow them to relax over their final two fixtures. Is Chelsea about to lose their seventh game on the bounce?

Brighton has announced a 3-year contract extension for manager Fabian Hürzeler; the German tactician would hope to celebrate this milestone with a win that could throw the Seagulls into a Champions League qualification spot. Can Wolves stop Brighton from celebrating their manager with a win at the AMEX?

Bournemouth is a good place. 6th on the log and a game away at Fulham to consolidate their place. Fulham wants to play in Europe; their performance at Arsenal last weekend was horrendous, but can they do better against the Cherries to tighten things in the race for Europe?

Let's talk about the title conversation, shall we? Arsenal FC only needs to win all their remaining three games to win their first title in 21 years. After City fails to win at Everton, the Cityzens are no longer in charge and would need the Gunners to drop points for them to be back in it.

Brentford wants to qualify for Europe. The Bees will not be easy to negotiate with on Saturday. Should City drop points again against Keith Andrew's side, Arsenal can confirm the title as early as next week against Burnley at the Emirates.

West Ham will have something to say about City's fate too. The Hammers can beat Arsenal to get the Cityzens back into title conversations. West Ham is deep in the relegation battle, and only a win will suffice after last week's loss plunged them into the bottom three.

It could be a historic week for Arsenal after their 1-0 win in midweek ushered them into their first Champions League final in two decades; the week could climax with the title within touching distance. Can Arsenal beat West Ham to edge closer to the title?
