A lot is happening in the world of football this week. Manchester United is still basking in the euphoria of their sensational win at the Emirates, a result that has blown the Premier League race wide open; however, our focus today is the buzzing transfer window.

We start with Randall Kolo Mouani's situation. PSG thought Juventus was going to take the Frenchman last summer, but the financial situation of the Italian giants led them to release him after his loan spell; the French champions loaned him to Spurs, and now, Juventus wants the Frenchman again.

Tottenham is having a poor season in the league, but, like they did last time out in Europe, they’re well positioned to finish in the top 8 of the group phase, which guarantees automatic qualification to the round of 16. They will need everyone fit and available; will they let Kolo Muani leave this January?

Next, we look at the situation of Douglas Luiz. He’s on loan from Juventus to Nottingham Forest, but he’s behind the pecking order. Aston Villa wants him back, and the Brazilian doesn’t mind returning home. That’s another deal we’re keeping an eye on.

AC Milan fans will be relieved to hear that their captain, Mike Maignan, is ready to extend his contract with the club until 2031. The French shot-stopper’s contract was due to expire in the summer, and after strong interest from the Premier League, Maignan has agreed to an extension with Milan, who are firmly in the title race despite a four-point deficit.

Remember Neal Maupay? The Dutchman who once plied his trade at Swansea and Brighton? He is on the move again from Marseille. The journeyman is leaving France to join Sevilla. The deal is a loan move with an option to buy in the summer.

Is Crystal Palace really in trouble? Nottingham Forest has tabled a 35m quid to take Jean Phillippe Mateta from the Eagles in the same window where they lost Marc Guehi to Manchester City for a similar fee; is this the end of Palace’s hold on the Premier League?
