The international break is upon us again, a time of the season that no one enjoys, but first, we must review the weekend's events in the Premier League.

There's a change at the top of the log, with Liverpool surrendering their top spot to Arsenal after failing to find a way past Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. It's the first time Liverpool has failed to earn anything from three straight games since the arrival of Arne Slot.

Chelsea won 2-1, thanks to a late goal by wonderkid Estevao, but the defeat once again dials up the real issues in the Liverpool ranks. The champions are struggling defensively; something needs to be done to avert further issues.

Where Liverpool failed, Arsenal took full advantage by beating West Ham at the Emirates with what you can call a professional performance. The 2-0 win sent Arsenal to the top going into the international break, and you expect this Arsenal side to take it from there.

On the flip side, there were encouraging signs on the part of West Ham. Nuno Espirito Santo has managed to fix the defensive gaps. While Arsenal missed a couple of chances, it was great to see some discipline in the Hammers' ranks; let's hope they get even better after the break.

Ange Postecoglou lost again with Nottingham Forest; it was a horrible performance from his side as they fell at St James' Park to Newcastle United. Is time running out for Postecoglou at Forest again?

On the flip side, is the present state of things with Nottingham Forest an indictment of Evangelos Marinakis and Edu Gaspar? After getting rid of Nuno Espirito Santo, has anything improved?

Manchester City beat Brentford 1-0, but it wasn't a vintage performance, and had Igor Thiago scored when he raced through on goal, things may have panned out differently for the former champions too.

Bournemouth are proving to be the dark horses of this season after seven games. A clinical 3-1 win over Fulham on Friday temporarily sent them to second on the log, and you can count on them to improve as time goes on.

Finally, Manchester United beat Sunderland 2-0. There's no shame in losing at Old Trafford for Rubis Le Bris and his Black Cats; however, they have United turned the corner after their third straight home win since 2023?
