We're at the tail end of the transfer window, so we expect quick deals and strange business from now on. Where do we start from? Here are the top five buzzing headlines from the current transfer window.

Newcastle holds Isak hostage.

Alexander Isak went public with his side of the story shortly after being named in the Premier League Players' Football Association team of the season, and it has gotten the attention of the Magpies.

The Swedish striker's statement confirms his desire to part ways with Newcastle United, but the club has responded swiftly, shutting all doors on his exit and waiting for him to return to the squad. This one will drag on till the end of the window.

Ederson to Gala, Donna to City?

Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson could well be on his way out of Manchester City after being left out of the squad at the weekend, with Galatasaray highly interested in him.

The Turkish side already sent a bid which the Cityzens feel is too low for his worth, but talks continue while everyone believes Gianluigi Donnarumma will head to the Etihad when Ederson leaves; this one looks pretty straightforward.

Inter pulls the plug on Lookman.

Following Atalanta's defiance, Inter Milan has pulled out of the race to sign Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman.

Lookman insists on leaving the Italian side this summer, and the club insists on not selling him to an Italian side. This is another one that could drag on for long, with his agent offering him to clubs in the Premier League, including Arsenal.

Rodrygo could be on the move soon.

Brazilian winger Rodrygo Goes was an unused substitute in Real Madrid's win over Osasuna on Tuesday night, fuelling further rumours of his potential exit from the club.

Despite Xabi Alonso insisting that the player is important to him, the handwriting on the wall suggests the Brazilian's time at the Santiago Bernabeu is up. Arsenal and Liverpool are his likeliest destinations after Manchester City shuts the door on potential arrivals.

Douglas Luiz is set to join Forest.

Former Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz has agreed to a move back to the Premier League, with Nottingham Forest firming plans to announce him.

The Brazilian left Villa for Juventus two years ago but didn't set the Serie A ablaze in any way, and, with Juventus in a financial conundrum, Douglas Luiz became surplus to requirements. He is expected to complete the move early enough to be available at the weekend.
