Another day, another transfer news update! We take a look at buzzing headlines across the ongoing transfer window. Here you go!

Alexander Isak tells Newcastle he wants out.

Newcastle has been dealt a harsh blow by their Swedish striker Alexander Isak after reports confirmed on Thursday that he wants to leave the club this summer.

Liverpool had enquired about the super striker last week, with Newcastle adamant they’re not considering his sale, and Arsenal, who were interested earlier in the window, turned to Isak’s compatriot Viktor Gyokeres; however, Isak says he wants to explore his options this summer. Any takers?

Liverpool opens talks for Isak.

It’s bad news for other title contenders, but Liverpool is still interested in signing Alexander Isak despite earlier saying Darwin Nunez will stay at the club.

Hugo Ekitike joined the club for €90m; however, he is considered the replacement for the late Diogo Jota, and the club can still accommodate one more forward. How will they fund it? They can sell Luis Diaz, who wants out, and the book is balanced; be afraid of Liverpool.

Newcastle eyes Sesko as Isak replacement.

Benjamin Sesko wants to leave Leipzig, and the Bundesliga club has been touted to have considered reducing their demands on the player after Arsenal looked elsewhere.

Leipzig had been reported to want up to €90m for their Slovenian; however, recent reports say they could be willing to allow him to go for as low as €60m, which interests Newcastle. The Magpies must enter the market, especially if they lose Isak.

Joao Felix is set to return home.

Seasonal journeyman Joao Felix is set to be on the move again after talks advanced with his boyhood club Benfica over a move from Chelsea.

Joao Felix has failed to live up to the hype that took him from Benfica to Atletico Madrid after spells with Chelsea, Barcelona, and AC Milan, all with underwhelming outcomes. Benfica is keen to bring him back home, and the Portuguese doesn’t mind.

United turn to Watkins.

Manchester United needs a striker, and after being blanked by Gyokeres, the Red Devils are now fully focused on Ollie Watkins, who would be interested in a move.

United will be able to match Villa’s asking price, but Unai Emery’s side doesn’t want to negotiate for the striker. Watkins will have to push for the move if he wants it, and it’s up to United to convince him to want the project they’re offering. This one remains up in the air.
