Liverpool’s title can be confirmed in this fixture; should Arsenal lose at Portman Road and Liverpool triumph at the King Power Stadium, the Reds’ title would be confirmed.

If Liverpool and Arsenal win on Sunday, Liverpool’s title would be confirmed against Tottenham if the Kops win, regardless of what Arsenal does in their own fixture, so it’s only a matter of time for Liverpool to win their second title in five years.

There’s a grave implication for Leicester City if Liverpool wins on Sunday; the Foxes would be relegated if they don’t win against Liverpool. It’s also not enough, as they need Wolves to lose at Old Trafford for them to still retain hopes.

As it’s a matter of time for the Kops to be confirmed league winners for this season, it’s the same for Leicester’s relegation, as Wolves only need a point to condemn Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s side to Championship football next season.

It was always coming for both sides; Arsenal’s dip in form and injury crisis always meant that Liverpool would be champions, while four wins all season would always amount to relegation for anyone. Quite unfortunate, but Leicester would be relegated.

Leicester City can take solace in the fact that they have the pedigree to bounce back almost immediately from the Championship like they did last time out; the 2016 champions got relegated two seasons ago and came back at the first time of asking. They can do it again.

For Liverpool, they look tired, but they’re lucky they already got the job done. Virgil Van Dijk’s contract extension was announced in midweek; the club captain would return next season, and he would love to celebrate that with a win against Leicester.

Arne Slot would be a winner in his first season; he joins the likes of Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti, who both did it with Chelsea at the first time of asking. No one saw them coming this season, especially with the void left by Jürgen Klopp, but they have done it in fine fashion.

Mohammed Salah is the man to watch out for in this one alongside Luis Diaz, who scored their winner in their game against West Ham last weekend, and Diogo Jota, who has a thing for Leicester City; for the Foxes, Jamie Vardy could be playing his last games for Leicester; he would make everyone count.

Verdict: Liverpool to win
