Manchester United’s Premier League season is as good as over, and all their hopes would now be channeled to their FA Cup and Europa League campaigns; however, they must beat Ipswich on Wednesday to avoid fans’ rage.

Ipswich is another team walking the hopeless path. At the same time, Southampton has been undoubtedly condemned to the murky relegation waters; it is almost certain that Ipswich Town and Leicester City will follow suit, except something extraordinary happens.

And if anything extraordinary is going to happen for the Tractor Boys, it must start from this game; after all, it’s a game against a team that is also at their lowest; Kieran McKenna’s side can give their all here to start an unprecedented revival.

What is there to fight for in the league for Manchester United outside of pride? They labored back from two goals down to level at Everton over the weekend; however, they would look back with a hug for Lady Luck as the VAR helped them to avoid a late concession of an obvious penalty.

On the other hand, Ipswich had nothing to cling to as hope or excuses in their 4-1 home loss to Tottenham Hotspur. The Tractor Boys didn’t offer much resistance to Spurs as Ange Postecoglou’s side continued their resurgence from the woods.

How will they both line up? Ipswich is coming to have fun in this fixture; they have nothing to lose, and they can approach this without pressure. McKenna will set up to allow the players to express themselves; they will stretch the pitch.

Liam Delap will be the leading light as always; he has scored almost half of their goals this season, and he has shown United what he can do before; he will be happy to do it again, and Manchester United must prepare for him.

Omari Hutchinson is another player to be wary of. The former Arsenal and Chelsea youngster scored a beauty in the reverse fixture, which ended 1-1 at the time. More of the same will help the Tractor Boys, but will United be happy with such a result?

Bruno Fernandes is the go-to man at Old Trafford; he creates and scores, so he will once again be the man to watch in the game on Wednesday. How will United set up? Ruben Amorim will rotate as always; however, they must have enough to win this one.

Verdict: Straight win United.
