Chelsea appears to have turned the corner; they have exceeded expectations after a summer filled with players searching for their futures.

Brighton is having a stellar run under the youngest manager ever to take to the dugout on a permanent basis; they could end the day in the top 4 if they beat Chelsea; that also depends on surrounding results, but they would love to have a shot.

The Blues beat West Ham last weekend effortlessly. Nicolas Jackson appears to have been reborn under Enzo Maresca, and he should be looked out for again in this game. It’s going to be quite interesting to see how the Italian manager sets up against a pragmatic side.

Three of Chelsea's games so far in the league were against teams that didn't perform well against them; this is the first time since the opening day that they will play a team that has a tendency to hurt them.

Last weekend, Brighton suffered a setback against Nottingham Forest; they took the lead before losing it in the second half, and even Morgan Gibbs White's red card was ineffective because it was too late for them to rally.

The midfield duo of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, who are full of energy and have the ability to pick passes like the Ecuadorian did in the game against West Ham, will test the Seagulls' unbeaten run at Chelsea.

The youthfulness of the Brighton side will indeed be tested; Carlos Baleba and Jack Hinshelwood will also need to pay attention while standing on their feet throughout the game. It will be tactical and require a lot of mental awareness.

We expect Jackson, Noni Madueke, and Jadon Sancho to form Chelsea's front three. The on-loan Manchester United winger is doing his best to rediscover himself and hopes to walk his way into the England set-up for the next set of international games.

Kaoru Mitoma is one to watch out for on the Brighton side; his trickery and pace could hurt the Chelsea defense. Danny Welbeck has been on fire this season. He is scoring freely. Chelsea cannot afford to take their eyes off the former Arsenal man.

Reece James is the only injured player at Chelsea right now. The doctors at Cobhams are relieved, especially considering the severity of their injury list from the previous season. Brighton will be a huge test for the Blues, while the latter also serves as a threat to the Seagulls’ unbeaten run. This one will be fun.

Verdict: Full-time draw
