It’s the weekend, and you probably think transfer talks will simmer until Monday. You’re wrong, because things are going on with clubs making calls and flying around to tie things up. Let’s look at a few of the stories making headlines.

Pay up or shut up: Bayern tells Man U

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has told Manchester United to show up with the money if they want Mathis de Ligt, with the former German champions asking for funds in excess of €50 million for the Dutchman.

United wants to pair Leny Yoro with De Ligt next season, with Lisandro Martinez filling in at left-back, but the German club will not negotiate lower for De Ligt, and it could even be worse for United if Bayern lands Jonathan Tah; they will need money to balance their books.

PSG wants to hijack Atletico’s deal for Alvarez.

Julian Alvarez is still on holiday, but the Argentine is rocking headlines with his decision to leave Manchester City in search of regular playing time.

Atletico Madrid met with the player's entourage and planned to confirm their offer with Manchester City early this week, but according to reports, PSG has flown to meet the player as he starts his holiday after crashing out of the Olympics against France. Alvarez is participating in a poker game.

The Juve bazaar calls for bids for top stars.

Juventus manager Thiago Motta has confirmed that the club is willing to listen to offers for six first-team players, with names like Federico Chiesa, Wojeich Sczcesny, and Author Melo leading the list.

Juventus is also considering offers as low as €10 million for Daniel Rugani, Weston McKennie, and De Sciglio, who was once the first name on the team sheet. These players have exciting days ahead.

Leipzig seals Simmons return

After weeks of speculation, Xavi Simmons has finally sealed a move back to RB Leipzig from PSG for another full season, a statement confirmed by the German side after the player returned from holiday.

Following the Netherlands' participation in the 2024 Euro Championship, Simmons was away. Upon his return, he completed his medicals with Leipzig and will remain with the German side for another year on a dry loan.

Alexander Sorloth signs for Atletico

Erling Haaland’s strike partner in the Norwegian national team, Alexander Sorloth, has signed for Atletico Madrid from Villarreal for €30 million.

Atletico remains in discussion with Manchester City for Julian Alvarez, but they didn’t pass on the opportunity to beef up their forward line, which has lost Memphis Depay and is prepared to lose Joao Felix permanently after another loan spell at Barcelona.
