This weekend, there are numerous hot topics in football, ranging from Germany's performance in their opening Euros match against a formidable Scotland team to the tragic news of the passing of two prominent players. We delve into these topics in more detail.

Germany is too good for a bad Scottish team.

You’ll ask yourself after only half an hour of football on Friday night if Scotland indeed deserves a spot in the ongoing 2024 Euro Championships. The Scotts were so bad that Germany didn't even need to leave first gear to destroy them.

While an Antonio Rudiger own goal ruined the scripts of the German defense, the brilliance of Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz, Kai Havertz, and Ilkay Gundogan offered joy to the natives, and if you didn’t think Germany stood a chance, you must have a rethink now.

IFormer Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, and Everton striker Kevin Campbell has passed away at the sad age of 54 after a brief illness.

Before signing a permanent contract, the late striker helped Everton survive the drop while on loan from Trabzonspor. After retirement in 2007, he joined the Sky Sports punditry team and was a burst of energy and warmth until his death.

BVB named Nuri Sahin as their head coach.

After Edin Terzic resigned in midweek, Borussia Dortmund named former Real Madrid and Liverpool playmaker Nuri Sahin as their new manager.

The 35-year-old takes over as manager, having previously assisted Terzic for two seasons. The former BVB midfielder signed a three-year contract and will now face another young manager, Vincent Kompany, at Bayern Munich as they seek to wrestle the league title from Xabi Alonso’s Bayern Leverkusen.

Roberto Di Zerbi is set to join Olympique Marseille.

The French side Olympique Marseille is about to unveil former Brighton and Hove manager Roberto Di Zerbi as their new head coach. The Italian left the Seagulls at the end of the season and is now set to become Marseille's new coach.

Brighton will announce the signing of young manager Fabian Hurzeler from St. Pauli in the German Bundesliga. At the young age of 31, he will become the youngest ever manager in the Premier League.

Chelsea to sign Michael Olise?

Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise is reportedly close to joining Chelsea, with the Blues willing to trigger his release clause.

Only teams in the Champions League are reportedly eligible for Olise's release clause, but the Blues are willing to go all the way, no matter how challenging it may be. The young lad will travel with Thierry Henry's U23 French team to the upcoming Olympics and will make a decision afterwards.
