The weekend once again served us great entertainment, and for the likes of Everton, Aston Villa, and Tottenham, it’s one they won’t forget in a hurry.

Arsenal’s elephant was sent packing from the top spot, and Liverpool climbed with another comeback win at Anfield, it’s just a point difference but it’s enough for everyone to be worried, are the Kops about to go all the way?

Talking about Arsenal’s loss to Aston Villa, it was the second game in which the Gunners failed to score this season. Unlike the contentious one at St. James’s Park, Arsenal created lots of chances but failed to convert their chances; there’s also a place for referee decisions, but it was Villa’s day in the end.

The win took Villa up to third on the log, just two points off Liverpool. Everton went from facing relegation to being five points above Luton Town. The sensational win over Chelsea proved that the Toffees won’t bother about the relegation dogfight this season.

Let’s talk about Chelsea for a moment. The problem is deeper than they ever imagined, and they must find creative ways to solve it. Chelsea has lost the plot; the goal should be to steady the ship, build patiently, and see how things evolve. Firing managers won’t ever be a silver bullet to success.

How is it going at Liverpool? The kops are on top of the log, and they must be excited. The fact that Darwin Nunez isn’t scoring is a worry; they need goals, but more than anything, they need a proper defensive midfielder who can plug the hole left by Fabinho; that’s key to their title charge.

Tottenham returned to winning ways, and it was an emphatic one. A 4-1 win over Newcastle isn’t little; it’s major work, and they must be happy. One game at a time, players getting into their groove, and big Ange can stay true to his philosophy. Let’s see where they are at the end of the year.

Erling Haaland was missing in action, and FPL managers that didn’t have Mohammed Salah or Heung Min Son as their VC must be struggling to smile. The champions laboured to a win at Luton Town; it wasn’t much, but it was honest work. Can we then say Rodri is the key to Pep Guardiola’s success?

Sheffield United won without conceding, a sensational return to Bramall Lane for Chris Wilder. He is a darling of the fans, and he can build on the big result. Still rock bottom, but the outlook can be promising if they take things professionally.

Step forward Andoni Iraola, Bournemouth took United out cleanly. With three goals without reply, sleek passing, and defensive discipline, the Cherries are another name you should chalk off on your chopping list; they must be dreaming of a top-ten finish on this run.
