Italian Serie B side FC Como has announced former Arsenal, Chelsea, and Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas as their manager on a temporary basis.
Moreno Longo has been dismissed following a run of just 16 wins in 45 games, the World Cup winner Fabregas announced on Monday, joining a long list of former internationals who leave the pitch to the dugout.
Fabregas (36) will make his managerial debut on November 25 against Feralpisalo, with Como sitting in 6th on the log. Fabregas played 17 times for Come in the second tier of Italian football last season before retiring to their B team as coach.
Former teammates and coaches of Fabregas have poured encomiums on the former midfield maestro, wishing him all the luck he needs, and the former Arsenal captain would hope his coaching career is as blessed as his playing one.
