Chelsea announce Moises Caicedo

In what can be called the worst-kept secret, Moises Caicedo has joined Chelsea for a staggering fee of £115 million, fending off competition from Liverpool. 

It was never in doubt, as the player has always wanted the Blues, and after the Kops went to press to announce the agreement with Brighton, Chelsea matched and surpassed their bid to blow Liverpool out of the water.

Nicolo Zaniolo is to have Villa medical on Wednesday

Italian youngster Nicolo Zaniolo has agreed to move to Aston Villa and will have a medical with Unai Emery’s team on Wednesday. 

The Roma prodigy spent part of last season on loan in Turkey, but he wants to move to England, and Roma has sanctioned the deal. Zaniolo will join on loan with the option to buy for €27 million.

Matic signs for Rennes on loan

Former Chelsea and Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has joined Rennes on loan from AS Roma. 

Jose Mourinho continues to prune down the team that reached the Europa League final last season, as there’s no elite competition outside the league this season. 

Matic will spend the new season in France after two seasons with the capital club.

Arsenal back for City’s Laporte after Timber's injury

Arsenal fans had their hearts in their mouths on Monday after news revealed an ACL problem for Jurien Timber, but the club is believed to have opened negotiations again with Manchester City for Aymeric Laporte. 

The Premier League champions are open to selling, and we just might see another quick trade between the two clubs.

Renato Sanches signs for Roma

After watching Nicolo Zaniolo and Nemanja Matic walk from the club to Aston Villa and Rennes, respectively, AS Roma has signed Portuguese star Renato Sanchez on loan from PSG with an option to buy for €15 million. 

Sanches will join for an initial €1 million, but the deal will be permanent if he plays up to 60% of Roma’s new season games.
