Conor Gallagher set for Chelsea exit: Spurs, West Ham interested

Conor Gallagher is ready to leave Chelsea after not being offered a new contract. Tottenham and West Ham are vying for his signature as potential replacements for their midfield positions.

While West Ham is eager to replace Declan Rice with two midfielders, Spurs need homegrown players and may look for a replacement for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who seeks a move to Atletico Madrid.

Gallagher, 23, has been at Stamford Bridge since the age of six and has previously expressed his desire to stay.

However, with only two years left on his current contract and not being offered a new deal, he accepts the need to leave.

Last summer, David Moyes tried to sign Gallagher, but Thomas Tuchel blocked his exit.

Now, Chelsea is willing to let him go as they look to sign new midfielders.

Mauricio Pochettino, Spurs' manager, continues to play Gallagher during pre-season, but he has no guarantees of securing a first-team spot.

Chelsea is actively seeking midfield signings and is in negotiations with Brighton for Moises Caicedo.

However, the two clubs have yet to reach an agreement on the £100 million asking price.

In addition to Caicedo, the Blues are also exploring other options such as Mohammed Kudus, Romeo Lavia, and Gabri Veiga.

While Chelsea remains in talks to sign young Montpellier forward Elye Wahi, it is expected that he will join Strasbourg on loan immediately after the transfer.

Brazilian winger Angelo Gabriel, a £14 million signing from Santos, will also be sent on loan to Strasbourg after the conclusion of Chelsea's pre-season tour.

Pochettino praised Chelsea's sporting directors and the board for their efforts in bringing the right players to the squad and expressed his happiness with their work.

Chelsea is open to signing two midfielders this summer as they aim to bolster their squad for the upcoming season.
