However, a compromise was eventually reached, and Milan's offer of €20 million plus €8 million in bonuses was accepted by Villarreal.

Samuel Chukwueze is set to sign a five-year contract with AC Milan, earning €4 million per season.

As part of the deal, Milan's defender Matteo Gabbia will join Villarreal on a season-long loan.
