Manchester City is on that run that lands them the title. The champions are at a point where whoever they face stands no chance. Can West Ham stop the moving train?

The 2-1 away win against Fulham shows some signs of a potential crack, but there are more ways to win a football match than one. It was gritty, and they had to get physical, but earning maximum points even when you don’t play well is the hallmark of top football sides.

West Ham is as good as safe from relegation conversations. One win is enough to guarantee them Premier League football next season, but a win away at the Etihad can give them the confidence that could extend to their Europa League fixtures.

The Hammers have lost their last two games but conceded four at Palace in a back-and-forth game that could be damaging to their confidence. Not many would expect anything special from West Ham against the champions, but stranger things have happened.

West Ham’s priorities are to seal Premier League survival and then land the Europa Conference title and springboard from there next season. It’s a successful season if all these things happen, but pride is also at stake at the Etihad.

Manchester City saw Arsenal beat Chelsea on Tuesday, and the result has taken them back to second on the log. A win returns the champions back to the top of the log and also with a game in hand; it’s back in their hands, and the title is theirs to lose.

Rotation is key for both sides considering they’re the remaining English teams in Europe; Kevin De Bruyne is struggling and could yet again sit this one out. Jack Grealish and Phil Foden would fight for spots in the squad with Riyad Mahrez and Julio Alvarez, respectively, but Erling Haaland is set to be unleashed again.

The Hammers can consider the game a free hit. They would nurse PTSD from Haaland’s debut, where he bagged a brace against them. They can plot to stop him, but is there anyone stopping the Norwegian Viking on Wednesday?

Verdict: Straight win for City
