It’s a potential banana peel for Arsenal. Eight points lead at the top is quite healthy, and the pressure is on Manchester City and the champions, who play first on Saturday against Liverpool.

The pressure could be back on the Gunners if City do their job and reduce the gap to five points.

The log leaders will be without their ever-dependable defender William Saliba, and they can’t tinker with Ben White as Takehiro Tomiyasu is also out.

Rob Holding will have to stand in the gap, and if his display against Crystal Palace is anything to go by, then he can do the job well.

Leeds United can’t afford to drop points at this stage, even though their last result against Wolves, an extraordinary 4-2 away win, gave them a breather before the break.

Can they build on that result with a sensational performance against the leaders?

Injuries haven’t been kind to Leeds this season, and now they will be without their flying forward Wilfred Gnonto, but Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo are both available to trouble the Arsenal backline.

Leeds United can turn things around on their own day, but will the visit to Arsenal be one of those?

Arsenal could see their lead shrink to just five points by the time they kickoff against Leeds, with City hosting Liverpool first.

The Gunners can reclaim their advantage with a win, and it can even get better should the champions drop points against Liverpool.

How will Leeds line up?

Jarvi Garcia has to keep it simple; you don’t overthink on days like this. Consider it a free hit and go out there to enjoy yourself.

Maintain discipline, stay compact, and take your chances when you get them, and you just might nick a goal to defend.

Arsenal will likely return with the same line-up that beat Palace, with Arteta sticking to his guns more than any other manager in the league this season.

Gabriel Jesus is the wild card off the bench, and he will offer a lot when he does come on.

Arsenal won the reverse fixture at Elland Road 1-0 with a monster goal by reigning Premier League player of the month Bukayo Saka.

Nevertheless, despite the earlier glitch, it was a contentious game that VAR decided.

Watch out for Saka, Martin Odegaard, and Leandro Trossard.

The defensive challenges could well mean nothing if Leeds aren’t even allowed to leave their own half, but football knows how to shock the best of us. Your move, Arsenal!

Verdict: Arsenal to win
