Arteta and Saka Win Barclays Manager and Player of the Month

Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, and Bukayo Saka, the team's star player, have received the Barclays Manager of the Month and Player of the Month awards, respectively.

With a 4-0 thrashing of Everton, a last-second 3-2 comeback victory against Bournemouth, a 3-0 victory over Fulham, and a 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace at the Emirates, the Gunners won four straight games in the month of March.

The star player will receive the trophy for the first time ever for his brilliant play, which began with a goal and an assist against Everton at the beginning of the month. 

With two goals and an assist against Palace, Saka contributed three goals.

In total, Mikel Arteta has won the prize six times for Arsenal, placing him one behind Jurgen Klopp's five victories in the 2019–20 campaign. 

Arteta won the prize ahead of fellow Spaniards Pep Guardiola, Unai Emery, and Roberto Di Zerbi of Brighton.

The gap between Arsenal and Manchester City in the Premier League standings is presently eight points. 

By the time the Gunners face Leeds, the gap may only be five points, but they will have the chance to close it.
