Bayern Munich have announced the sacking of manager Julien Nagelsmann after a string of bad results in domestic football. However, his record in Europe shows that he was a good manager.
The former Frankfurt manager has led the Bavarians into the quarterfinals of the Champions League, where they’re due to meet Manchester City.
They got into the last eight having beaten PSG 3-0 on aggregate and not conceding a goal throughout the group stages.
The loss to Bayern Leverkusen on Sunday meant Borussia Dortmund usurped them on the league table, and that was the last straw that broke the camel’s back.
It didn’t matter that the man they got from RB Leipzig landed them the league title last season; the standard is tough.
In a sharp twist, word on the street is that former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is being primed for the Bayern job, and he will be handed the role on a permanent basis until 2025.
Thomas Tuchel has been a free agent since leaving Chelsea last year.
It even becomes more interesting to note that Julian Nagelsmann is being readied for the Tottenham Hotspur job as it is now clear as day that Antonio Conte will be fired.
Talks are expected to get underway between Spurs and the German, and we can’t wait to see how that turns out.
