Europa League: Tough Draws for Man Utd, Arsenal, Juventus

The Europa League round of 16 draws were held at Niort on Friday, and some interesting lineups are being anticipated already.

Premier League club Manchester United will negotiate with Spanish La Liga side Real Betis, with the first leg happening at Old Trafford. 

Erik ten Hag’s side beat Barcelona over two legs in the playoffs to advance and will now hope to reenact the magic of 2017 under Jose Mourinho.

Premier League leaders, Arsenal will travel to Sporting Lisbon for the first leg of the round of 16 before hosting the Portuguese club a week later at the Emirates.

Arsenal will be the clear favourites in this tie, but you can’t underrate Sporting Lisbon.

Juventus rallied from the home draw against Nantes to dump the French side from the tournament with a dominant 3-0 win in the second leg on Thursday and have been rewarded with a tie against German Bundesliga side Freiburg.

Bayern Leverkusen will host Ferencváros first before heading to Hungary for the second leg.

The German side can’t play down the role of the giant killers in this tie.

Union Berlin will square off with Union St. Gilloise while Sevilla will play Fernerbahce.

Serie A side, AS Roma, managed by Jose Mourinho, will play Real Sociedad, while Dutch club Feyenoord will play Shakhtar Donetsk.

The first legs will be played on March 9th, followed by the second legs on March 16th of the same month.
