Manchester United will play a cup final for the first time since 2017 following a 5-0 aggregate win over Nottingham Forest and will now square up with Newcastle United at Wembley.

After a 3-0 win at the Community Stadium last week, the Red Devils followed it up with a 2-0 win on Wednesday. 

Substitute Marcus Rashford provided two assists for quick fire goals with fellow substitute Anthony Martial scoring the first and midfielder Fred the second.

Newcastle beat Southampton 3-1 on aggregate to book a place in the League Cup final and will be playing their first cup final in over two decades. 

Sean Longstaff’s double helped Eddie Howe’s side to complete the double win on Wednesday.

What do we expect in the final? 

It’s remarkable to note that Newcastle United faced relegation last year and sat deep in the drop zone until February last year before turning it around to mix it in the top four with the big boys and also qualify for a cup final.

United struggled since Alex Ferguson left and sake for Jose Mourinho’s League Cup triumph and Europa League win of 2017, it’s been a dry run for the giants and like Eric Ten Hag promised at his first ever presser at Old Trafford, a new era is here.

Newcastle will be proud to take on United at Wembley for the final and it will be huge relief for either side to win it. 

Both have suffered differently over the years and for the Magpies, they even got relegated in the process, this might just be a return of glory days.
