When Arsenal lost to Everton on Saturday, most people expected City to capitalize and cut the Gunners’ lead at the top to just two points but it didn’t happen as the reigning champions lost at Tottenham and that begs for answers.

There’s a crack in the City squad and it’s becoming obvious by the day.

When Manchester City came from behind to beat Tottenham about three weeks ago, Pep Guardiola’s post-match interview revealed something but then, it was seen as a reactionary vibe.

Today, after the loss at Spurs, it’s clear as day that everything Guardiola said on the day was a reflection of things happening behind the scene but can anyone absolve the Spaniard of blames?

What really went wrong with Joao Cancelo?

The Portuguese fullback has assisted three times already in just two games at Bayern Munich and you must wonder what went wrong that couldn’t be discussed.

Guardiola also left Kevin De Bruyne on the bench for the Spurs game, is the crack getting wider?

To Arsenal’s advantage, any unrest in the City team will only help Arsenal to gain more points.

And instead of ruing the loss to Everton, Arsenal wasn’t made to pay for it except if you count Manchester United as a threat.

For United, the loss of Casemiro for three games will have a bearing on their game and how they play.

The Brazilian was sent off for violent conduct against Palace and Scott McTominay and Fred will now be the only replacements.

Marcel Sabitzer can try but he’s more of a Bruno Fernandes than Christian Eriksen. Newcastle is falling off and you can cut them some slacks.

It will be a heroic finish if they can make the top four but even a top-six finish would be something phenomenal.

Everything points to an Arsenal season, if City doesn’t get their acts together, it might be too little too late in the end.
