Arsenal went to Elland Road on Sunday with the hope of maintaining their sensational start to the league season which has seen them top the premier league table at this stage for the first time in a very long time and got their fans believing again.

In Arsenal’s way was Leeds United, a team struggling for results and it was always going to be a difficult game for the Gunners following a difficult trip to Norway where they played Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League last week Thursday on an Astroturf pitch.

The game was delayed for almost an entire half with power issues but after it eventually resumed, Arsenal didn’t find it easy. The Gunners had to depend on a ridiculous diagonal pass from Rodrigo to score what eventually became the winner.

The second half was all Leeds United; the Gunners couldn’t get near Jesse Marsch’s team and needed strokes of luck to survive unscathed. Leeds had a penalty missed by Patrick Bamford midway into the second half and Aaron Ramsdale saved brilliantly from the Leeds number 9 and Aaronson afterward.

One of the hallmarks of title-winning sides is the ability to grind out wins on days they don’t play well, Arsenal aced that in the game at Elland Road. The second half was one where the league leaders could have conceded three times or more but they stood resolute.

Mikel Arteta will have to speak to Gabriel Maghalaes following his last-minute melee with Bamford which the center referee already gave as a penalty and a straight red card before the VAR intervened after replays showed Bamford committed the first crime on the Brazilian.

City’s loss at Anfield has handed Arsenal a four-point buffer, is this the season they finally land the premier league title?
